CROSSFIT. FUNCTIONAL FITNESS. HIIT.
Brianne began working in the fitness industry in 1997 after becoming a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor while attending Florida State University. She has taught numerous fitness classes including Spinning, Body Pump, step, and yoga. As a personal trainer, Brianne has worked with many people including doctors, executives, stay-at-home moms, fitness competitors, and even a Nascar pit crew (in the same building that ACR currently occupies). In 2004, she went to work full time as a high school math teacher, but continued to teach group fitness classes during her afternoons, evenings, and summers.
In 2010, Brianne was growing bored with her personal fitness routine and was invited by a couple of friends to attend a CrossFit class. She began incorporating CrossFit into her regular fitness routine and was hooked after seeing a dramatic increase in lean muscle mass. Brianne has coached high school weightlifting for five years and competed and trained with an all women's power-lifting team for three years. She currently holds a CF-L1 and CF-L2.
One of Brianne’s passions is nutrition. She loves to cook and bake and loves to talk with people about ways they can become more healthy and thrive by the foods they eat. She also really enjoys the StrongFit classes at ACR. Brianne enjoys helping people take control of their health by moving more, lifting heavy things, and eating well.
Owner and Coach
At the age of 7, Angela has called Panama City, Fl. her home. She left to attend the University of Central Florida where she received a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration. After graduating, she had moved and lived many places around the southeast, had 3 beautiful children in the meantime and then returned back to Panama City in 2017.
She started her health journey in Crossfit in 2017 as well. I fell in love with the nature of functional fitness and the community that Crossfit gyms create. It’s not just the workout, it is the entire environment that makes it so fun. She received her Crossfit L-1 certification in 2019 to become a better athlete, not necessarily to Coach. Coaching for her started as a bi-product of Hurricane Michael. Gyms were closed but people still needed a sense of normalcy. She had a garage gym where she helped people in a more intimate setting and loved it. Angela became the proud owner of ACR in 2020 and one of the Coaches on staff. Angela wants to help people find what she found in this realm of fitness.
Kristen was born and raised in Africa, moved to the U.S. at the age of 18, and two years later joined the Army. After 9 years on active duty, she transferred to the Reserves in order to pursue a career founded in health and physical fitness. Kristen has a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology, and is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
She watched CrossFit grow in popularity after seeing it for the first time in 2010 during a deployment to Afghanistan. However, it wasn't until 2015 when she was able to talk a friend into going with her, that she was finally able to try it out....it was love at first WOD!
In early 2021, in hopes of expanding her personal knowledge, and as a way to challenge herself to step outside her comfort zone, she completed both her CF-L1 and the Scaling Course certificates. Her hope is to share both her passion for fitness/health, as well as her love for CrossFit.
Kevin is from Panama City, Florida and graduated from the University of West Florida in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He first began CrossFit at the beginning of 2018 while working in San Diego, California for the U.S. Navy as a civilian. He began coaching CrossFit in mid-2020, and currently holds a CF-L2.
A passion of Kevin’s is Olympic Weightlifting. Since early 2021, he has held the status of USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach. Combining CrossFit and USAW principles allows him to learn and grow as both athlete and coach, and translate those lessons to the community with enthusiasm and positivity. His goal is technical excellence of all movements across all types of athletes.
Jay grew up in Panama City, and finished college at University of West Florida before moving to Nashville, TN to start a teaching career.
Jay got involved in getting fit through obstacle races and running. He started a running group and began the journey to run Ultra Marathons.
He then became caught up in functional fitness and became a certified personal trainer in order to learn more about lifting and to lead a group of dads in early morning HIIT workouts.
In 2019, Jay moved back home to Panama City and found his community at ACR Athletics. Wanting to learn more, Jay became a CF-L1 in 2021 and is excited to help others find community and reach fitness goals.
